Day By Day Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi to Famous Masai Mara

You will start with a meet-and-greet with the Sky Extra team for a tour briefing. Then, embark on an early morning drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. Along the way, stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint.

Masai Mara, part of the Serengeti ecosystem, offers incredible wildlife experiences, including the great migration. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon and evening game drive. Dinner and overnight stay will be at your accommodation.

Day 2 Full Day into the Heart of Masai Mara

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive with a packed lunch or return to the accommodation as per your wish. The reserve is renowned for its black-maned lions and abundant wildlife. It’s one of the few places where you might spot the Big Five during a morning drive. Many cheetahs are so accustomed to humans that they take shelter under vehicles or even climb onto the roofs for a better view of prey.

Bird enthusiasts will be thrilled, as nearly 500 species have been recorded. Visit the Mara River, where the great migration happens annually. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at your accommodation.

Day 3 Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park

Start your day with a morning game drive in Masai Mara as you exit the reserve. After completing border formalities at Isebania, head to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. En route to your accommodation, enjoy an afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park. The golden light bathes the vast savannahs, creating a breathtaking finale to your day. Known for its incredible wildlife and the great migration, the Serengeti offers unparalleled views of lions, elephants, and wildebeests.

Today, you can expect a long day of driving, but the game drives in and out of the parks are often spectacular.

Dinner and overnight stay will be at your accommodation.

Day 4 Explore Serengeti National Park for a Full Day

You will have a full day to explore the Serengeti with a flexible schedule and unlimited mileage. As you crest the hillside, the vast Serengeti unfolds before you; its name means “endless plains” in Kiswahili. Covering 6,900 square miles (18,000 square kilometers), this park is home to over 2 million animals, including a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles. The abundance of prey attracts large predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, while smaller creatures such as rock hyraxes, bat-eared foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares also thrive here.

With nearly 500 bird species, the Serengeti is a wildlife haven. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a game drive en route to your accommodation, where you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5 Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservancy Area

We recommend rising early to embark on a game drive when the animals are most active and to witness one of the most stunning sunrises you will ever see (with an optional balloon safari). After the drive, return to your accommodation for a delicious brunch before heading to Ngorongoro, often called the 8th Wonder of the Natural World. Spanning 102 square miles with 2,000-foot-high walls, this crater is like a natural Noah’s Ark, home to nearly every species indigenous to East Africa. It’s one of the few places on the continent where you might see the elusive black rhino. The crater features a river, several swamps, a soda lake with flamingos, a forest, and expansive plains. It’s renowned for its enormous elephants with impressive tusks.

You will arrive at your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay to relax.

Day 6 Ngorongoro to Arusha

We will begin the day with an early breakfast before checking out of the accommodation. We will embark on a game drive en route to a Maasai village and then head towards Arusha. We anticipate arriving in Arusha in good time for your flight back home. We will drop you off at the airport, marking the end of our services.
