Day By Day Itinerary

Day 1Nairobi to Amboseli National Park Home To Big Elephants

Meet the Sky Extra Team for your tour briefing at JKIA or your hotel in Nairobi. Afterwards, embark on a scenic journey to Amboseli National Park, complete with an en-route game drive. You’ll arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive.

Amboseli is famous for its close encounters with wild elephants, making it one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. You’ll also be treated to breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The elephants thrive here, often found in the swamp areas where they share cool waters with hippos. The park boasts a significant population of Burchell’s zebras and other herbivores, including Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, buffalo, warthogs, Maasai giraffes, impalas, waterbucks, and dik-diks.

After a thrilling day, return to your accommodation the for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2Amboseli National Park Full-Day Game Drive

After a hearty breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive, to the home of gigantic elephants. You’ll spend time in the park in search of its popular residents like the well-known predators and their opponents like the zebra, giraffe, hippo and big elephants with a backdrop view of Mt Kilimanjaro.

Day 3Amboseli To Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, you will have an early morning departure to Lake Naivasha. It is known as a Birdwatcher’s Haven, spot colorful birds, including the iconic fish eagle, along the shores of this freshwater lake. Get up close with hippos as they wallow in the lake and zebras grazing peacefully nearby. Boat Safari, enjoy a boat ride on the lake, offering unique perspectives of the wildlife and the surrounding landscape.

 

Day 4Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, check out and embark on your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park. The trip provides breathtaking views of the Rift Valley escarpment. You’ll arrive at the park mid morning and go for a game drive before lunch.

Nakuru National Park is renowned for its vast flocks of lesser flamingos, drawn to the algae-rich soda lake. The park is home to over 50 species of mammals, including hippos, both black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffalo, and eland. Birdwatchers will be thrilled to spot more than 450 species. Enjoy hiking through the picturesque landscape, picnicking by the lake, and be sure to visit the stunning Makalia Waterfall. After a fulfilling day, return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5Lake Nakuru National Park to Famous Masai Mara

Begin your day with an early breakfasst and check out. Afterward, drive west past Mount Longonot and through Narok to arrive at the Masai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch. Check into your accommodation and savor your meal while enjoying views of the reserve.

In the afternoon, set out for a game drive. As temperatures drop, the Mara’s predators—lions, cheetahs, and leopards—gear up for their evening hunts, especially during migration season when food is abundant.

As the sun sets, return to your accommodation for dinner, followed by a delightful evening of stargazing and storytelling around the fireplace. When you’re ready, a Maasai night guard, known as an Askari, will escort you back to your room for the night.

Day 6 Full-Day At The Heart Of Maasai Mara

Awaken to the enchanting symphony of vibrant birdlife in the Masai Mara. After a delicious breakfast, set off on a full-day safari in the Masai Mara National Reserve, where abundant wildlife presents fantastic photo opportunities. The breathtaking backdrop of clear blue skies and rolling savannah will leave you spellbound, creating memories to treasure forever. Experience the thrill of observing animals at crossing points and tracking herds, just like lions and cheetahs, capturing their majesty through your lens. The savannah promises endless excitement and adventure.

As the sun sets, visit a Maasai village to immerse yourself in its rich culture before returning to your accommodation for a delightful dinner. Spend the evening gathered around the campfire, sharing stories and experiences from your unforgettable journey through the African wilderness. This day is sure to be a highlight of your safari adventure.

Day 7From Mara To Diani Beach

After breakfast, gather your belongings and say goodbye to the Masai Mara, much like the wildebeest beginning their journey. Depart to Nairobi then to Diani by train.You’ll arrive in Diani late in the evening and check-in at your resort. Enjoy dinner, then the ocean’s cool breeze as you retire for the night.

Day 8Full Day Diani Beach

Awaken to a tropical paradise, get to relax on the white sandy beaches, soak up the sun, and enjoy the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Water Sports, indulge in a variety of water activities, such as snorkeling, diving, windsurfing, and kite surfing. There’s an option of visiting nearby attractions like the Shimba Hills National Reserve.

Day 9Diani To Nairobi

After breakfast ,explore the coastal culture, local Swahili culture and cuisine. You can spend the last hours of your journey relaxing. Afterward, you will transfer to Mombasa Train station for your journey back to Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi, our team will either transfer you to your city hotel  of your choice or JKIA for your onward journey / flight back home.
